Final Dissemination event of
the SECURE FORCE project
Rome 30th January
2009
NH Leonardo da Vinci
Via dei

SMEs and Research
Programmes in Security at European or national level
Security research under
FP7 has been earmarked € 1.4 billion in EU funds over the programme’s seven
years duration (2007-2013) favouring cross-border research which brings
together partners from academia, research institutions, industry and end-users
with the purpose of creating a certain
synergy and critical mass.
On the other side the
importance of security is also related to its cross- fertilization.
European efforts seek to
improve the security of citizens, protect infrastructures and utilities,
develop intelligent surveillance and border security, enhance Europe’s
crisis-management capabilities, improve the integration and interoperability of
systems.
For these reasons, FP7’s
security theme integrates other important themes such as for example ICT.
SECURE-FORCE, a project
funded by the European Commission, and supported by Enterprise Europe Network, organizes a half day workshop with
the purpose of illustrating the lessons
learnt in the involvement of European Companies in FP6 and FP7 programmes
through the direct experience of successful proposals.
The workshop will also
present the new FP7 ICT call with deadline on April 1st 2009.
The event is addressed to
SMEs, large companies, Universities or Research Centres that are involved in
FP7 research projects or willing to participate and to Regional Development
Agencies that provide support in FP7 project proposal.
